‘After-School Satan Club’ Aimed At 6-11 Year Olds In Illinois Elementary School Raises Outrage

Moline, IL – An Illinois school district is under fire for allowing The Satanic Temple to offer an ‘Satan Club after school’ program.

Parents are outraged after a flyer circulated on social media this week inviting Jane Addams Elementary School students ages 6 to 11 to an after school Satan Club.

The Satanic Temple co-founder claimed that the Satanic Club will not try to convert children to Satanism or force them to worship the devil.

“This is not really a club meant to proselytize Satanism or even engage in discussions of religious views,” Satanic Temple co-founder Lucien Greaves told WQAD. “This is an educational program intended to focus on critical thinking and only basic education skills.”

The Belleville News-Democrat reported:

An Illinois school district advocates an after school program offered by The Satanic Temple, a national religious and human rights group.

Many parents are reportedly furious about the meetings to be held at Jane Addams Elementary School in Moline.

Dr. Rachel Savage, Superintendent of Moline-Coal Valley Schools, said the school and its teachers do not participate in the club. Flyers are posted in the school lobby and parents must sign a permission slip to allow their children to attend, just as they do with Boys and Girls Scouts or any other club.

She said the Board of Education allows its facilities to be used for community use.

“Illegally denying your organization to pay rent for our publicly funded institution, after school hours, subjects the district to a discrimination lawsuit, which we will not win, probably taking thousands upon thousands of taxpayer dollars from our teachers, staff and classrooms, ”Savage said in a statement Wednesday, January 12.

Savage’s statement came after many parents raised concerns about the club, WQAD reported.

Satan is after our children. Pray for this nation.
