Konstantinos Angelakis returned to action after seven whole months playing with his new team, the Polish Jaroslav, scoring two victories in his debut.
The Greek champion of 2020 in the men’s table tennis, gave the Polish league his first matches with his new team, Jaroslav, which were also the first for him after last March. At that time, Angelakis had played in qualifying games with Zamos, his team last year in Poland, and in May he underwent knee surgery, which deprived him of important matches with the national team.
In his debut with Yaroslavl he showed strength and achieved two victories. Yesterday, Panathinaikos announced the renewal of cooperation with him, it will simply not be able to strengthen him even in the current season while he is playing in Poland, a fact that is related to the regulations in the federation of the Central European country.
At the end of the week, Yaroslav played two consecutive matches for the fifth and sixth games of the championship. The 24-year-old defender went to Poland with only three weeks of training and so he gradually enters the matches. He played only at home with Morlini Ostroda and was placed in the “1” position of the team. In the victory with 3-1 he was decisive, as in his first match he defeated Jakab Vitkovski with 3-1 sets and in the second Maximilian Miastovski with 2-1 sets.
Also at home, Yaroslavl prevailed 3-2 over Gdansk and thus rose to third place in the standings, where it lives with Bydgozz at 14 points. Angelakis remains in Poland for training, as his team has obligations in the Polish league this week as well.
