The Valencian composer Arnau Bataller, author of the music for the film “Mediterráneo”, directed by Marcel Barrena, recounts the responsibility and “respect” that the challenge of giving voice to the refugee’s drama gave him and hopes to have contributed, along with the rest of the team that have put their “soul” into this project, to “leave a mark” on the viewer and not leave the cinema indifferent.
The film’s soundtrack, which narrates the origins of the NGO Open Arms, was based on the premise that the music did not serve to “sweeten, dramatize excessively or tell the viewer what to feel”, but rather be very respectful and sincere with the characters, points out Bataller (Alzira, Valencia, 1977) in an interview with the Efe Agency.
