Igor Fissenko, Belarusian Ambassador to France, was recalled to Minsk by his country for “consultations”. The day before, the French ambassador to Belarus had been asked to pack his bags.
After the departure of the French ambassador from Belarus at Minsk’s request, the country led by Alexander Lukashenko recalled its ambassador to France on October 18.
“Belarusian Ambassador to France Igor Fissenko has been recalled to Minsk for consultations,” ministry spokesman Anatoly Glaz said in a statement. The French Ambassador in Minsk, Nicolas de Bouillane de Lacoste had left Belarus the day before at the request of the authorities.
