Black Lives Matter and protesters against the mandate rallied and were forced to storm the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Sunday in support of Kyrie Irving, an NBA player who was banned from playing because he was not vaccinated.

The Brooklyn Nets player was banned from playing in home games and has essentially been banned from the team.

The unlikely mix of protesters from across the political spectrum chanted “Stand With Kyrie” as they walked through the gates during Sunday’s game.

In a statement to Fox News, a spokesperson for the Barclays Center said the scheduled game went as scheduled despite the brief interruption from protesters.

“The Barclays Center briefly closed its doors today in order to clear protesters from the main gates of the plaza and ensure that guests can safely enter the arena,” the statement said. “Only ticketed guests were allowed into the building and the game went according to schedule.”
