Pokemon GO has finally released all the details about this year’s Halloween event, and it could be a good chance to catch a shiny Spinarak.

Although not of the Ghost type, Spinarak is actually quite a fitting Pokémon to appear in the Halloween season. In the Johto region, Spinarak could only be found at night.

This Pokémon evolves into Ariados, whom Generation II fans will remember as the leader of Koga’s Elite Four team.

Pokemon Generation II has a shiny form released for the Halloween event

Among several other festivities, a group of Pokémon (primarily Psychic, Ghost, and Dark) will have a higher spawn rate during Pokémon GO’s Halloween event. Spinarak will be part of this group and his shiny form will be available.

Although Spinarak has been in the game for quite some time, this is the first appearance of his brilliant form.

The full Halloween event will run from October 15, 2021 to October 31, 2021. However, it will be divided into two parts. Shiny Spinarak will only be available during the first part, titled Creepy Companions, which specifically focuses on the psychic and poisonous types. This only lasts until October 22, 2021, after which a new group of Pokémon will appear in the wild.

The other Pokémon that will be encountered during the Creepy Companions portion of the event are as follows:

  • Pikachu from Halloween mischief
  • Zubat
  • Drowzee
  • Gastly
  • Misdreavus
  • Shuppet
  • Piplup of Halloween pranks
  • Stunned
  • Woobat
  • Gothita

Galarian Slowking will also make his debut during this year’s Halloween event. This debut was teased when Galarian Slowbro was introduced in June, but the actual arrival date of the other Galarian Slowbro had not been revealed until now.

In addition to the new Pokémon spawns, a new chapter in Research will be introduced for the Season of Mischief. This investigation, titled Misunderstanding Mischief, will give players access to a special event at the end of the season that appears to be related to Hoopa in some way.

Many trainers may have caught Hoopa during the latest investigation, titled The Arrival of Hoopa. However, this event at the end of the season could be giving other trainers a chance to catch this mythical Pokémon.
