Emmanuel Macron announces “the end of abundance” and “recklessness”
In the preamble to the Council of Ministers back to school, Wednesday August 24, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, spoke in front of the cameras of journalists. He took stock of the “series of crises, each more serious than the other” which shake the world, and consequently France. Also he called for “unity”.
“Our compatriots can react with a lot of anxiety”, he warned, asking his ministers to “say things (…) with great clarity and without catastrophism”. With rising inflation, the war in Ukraine, and tensions between Beijing and Taiwan, “It’s easy to promise anything and everything, sometimes to say anything and everything”, said the head of state. But “Let’s not give in to these temptations”he asked the ministers around him, asking them not to show “demagoguery”.
