The GOAT Cristiano Ronaldo-Lionel Messi debate does not seem to end anytime soon. Viewers and fellow footballers continue to choose who they think is best among the duo.
Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has also thrown himself into the eternal debate, giving his support to the Manchester United striker.
When asked to choose who he thinks is the better player between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the French star was quick to reply:
Abdoulaye Doucoure also chose Manchester City as the toughest opponent he has faced so far in his career. Faced with the question, the midfielder gave a curt and decisive answer:
“The toughest opponents? Manchester City.”
Meanwhile, Abdoulaye Doucoure is not the only Everton player who admires Cristiano Ronaldo. Toffees midfielder Andros Townsend recently praised CR7 after scoring against Manchester United and copying the Portuguese ace’s ‘siuu’ celebration. He said:

The list of 30 finalists for this year’s Ballon d’Or award has been published by France Football, with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo listed. The award ceremony will take place at the Theater du Chatelet in Paris on November 29.
As it stands, Lionel Messi is the favorite to go home with the coveted award after leading Argentina to Copa América glory this summer. The forward had a tournament to remember, finishing with more goals and more assists, as well as being named the best player in the competition.
However, the PSG star faces intense competition from Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, who won the Champions League, Euro and UEFA Super Cup this year. The likes of Robert Lewandowski, Ngolo Kante and Kevin De Bruyne are also strong contenders for the accolade.
