The Spanish Ferran Torres, 21, suffers a small fracture in his right foot, as confirmed by the tests carried out on the player upon his arrival in Manchester, after having withdrawn injured from the semi-final match of the League of Nations against Italy and forced to be in the final against France, in which he played 84 minutes.
The Spanish footballer was first diagnosed with trauma to the right instep after the strong blow against Italy. He did not train any day before the final and after testing himself in the warm-up, he had a talk with the coach, Luis Enrique, and played. A match in which he did not perform at the same level as in the first 45 minutes against the Italians. Vague in the centers and without the explosiveness that characterizes him.
Upon arriving in Manchester to join the discipline of his club, City, his foot was re-evaluated, showing a small fracture in the area. Diagnosis that makes that, if you continue with the planned recovery plan, you miss more than a month of competition.
Coach Pep Guardiola will not be able to count on Ferran for the two Champions League games against Bruges or for the five Premier League games, with the derby against United on 6 November, before the next national team break. An international window for which Luis Enrique will have to find him a substitute in a squad that will face two momentous matches. He will visit Greece on November 11 and receive Sweden on November 14 with the need to win to avoid the play-off and get to be in the Qatar World Cup that will be played in 2022 from November 21 to December 18.
