Human skeleton discovered half-buried in a river in Lleida, Spain.
The Mossos d’Esquadra were alerted after a Generalitat worker discovered the remains of a foot and a leg.
The Mossos d’Esquadra have taken action. On Wednesday, October 13, they discovered the half-buried skeleton. The skeleton was discovered in a stream in the Noguera Ribagorçana river in Albesa in Lleida.
According to Catalan police sources speaking to Europa Press, the police are currently awaiting the results of the autopsy. An investigation has already been opened but the autopsy data is needed to advance the investigation.
The employee of the Generalitat alerted the Mossos d’Esquadra discovering the partial remains. Officers of the Mossos d’Esquadra then found the rest of the remains.
According to reports, the initial discovery of the foot and leg was made at noon. The rest of the skeleton was then discovered surrounded by roots. Work has started to recover the skeleton which was half buried. The skeleton was finally recovered after 8 p.m.
No other details of the shocking find are known at this time. The investigation is continuing.
