The APAA charity in Nerja is organizing a fashion show in November to raise funds for its € 200,000 goal for the construction of its new animal shelter.
The Nerja Charity Show will take place at the Hotel Rural Almazara on Sunday November 28 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
APAA Treasurer Sue Kiff said: “We are just picking out clothes at the moment and tickets will be available soon.”
Used clothes and new clothes will go on sale after the show and all proceeds will go to appeal to APAA shelters, raising the funds needed to provide a shelter for the homeless animals of Nerja.
Speaking about the appeal, Sue said, “We have been very successful with the donations and we get to around € 3,000 raised in just a few weeks.
She added that the charity had received several large donations.
Sue said: “The Blevins Franks Company supports several charities locally and has now chosen to help APAA Nerja. They donate € 925.
“We also received € 414 from another donor who offered to give the association a percentage of its rental income.”
She added, “Our dog sponsorship program is also doing very well.”
To continue fundraising for the APAA shelter appeal, the association is also planning to create a calendar with photos of its rescue dogs outside of local businesses that will pay to advertise there.
The association is raising funds to build a refuge in the Nerja region to take care of homeless animals there.
Tickets for the APAA’S fashion show, priced at € 15, can be purchased in the association’s shop at Calle Chaparil 7 in Nerja, or at 643 406 591.
