NFL DFS Picks Week 6: Top Sleepy Players, Valuable Players for DraftKings, Daily FanDuel Fantasy Football Lineups
| Local Sport News | Yahoo news
With another wild week of NFL action on the books, it’s about time we picked our favorite sleepers and valuable picks for DFS Week 6 contests. As Bill Belichick would say, “There are no days off!” Just like Tuesdays are for waivers in one-year redesign fantasy leagues, in daily fantasy football, Tuesdays are for early value finding in the DraftKings and FanDuel player groups.
If you are a DFS junkie or just like to find an edge or angle with all your football related bets, this column will be by your side throughout the season. Every week, I go through the player pools on DraftKings and FanDuel and compile a list of sleepers and / or value picks to help you earn some cash. The more players of value you add, the more money you have left for weekly stallions tested elsewhere on the list.

If you read this column before Week 5, you would have benefited from our advice to add a large number of low-cost, high-value players to your DFS rosters. Here’s a short list of some of our successes from the past week, including the cost of each player’s DraftKings and the final PPR result:
- QB Jameis Winston, Saints at Washington (DK: $ 5,600 | FD: $ 7,000): 33.76
- RB Chuba Hubbard, Panthers vs. Eagles (DK: $ 6,000 | FD: $ 6,700): 18.4
- RB Damien Williams, Bears at Raiders (DK: $ 5,600 | FD: $ 5,800): 16.4
- WR Hunter Renfrow, Raiders vs Bears (DK: $ 4,900 | FD: $ 5,800): 11.6
- TE Dalton Schultz, Cowboys vs. Giants (DK: $ 4,400 | FD: $ 6,200): 13.9
If you used any of these profitable selections last week, you would have benefited from good, cheap production, while at the same time allowing yourself an extra stud or two elsewhere. Getting the most for your money has always been the name of the game at DFS, so it’s important to do your due diligence before building lineups. Leave the deep dive in our hands – we are here for you from the first start to the last play of the 2021 NFL season.
Without further ado, let’s jump right into week 6!
All player values are from DraftKings and FanDuel. All stats are from NFL.com and Pro Football Reference.
WEEK 6 DFS LINEUPS: DraftKings | FanDuel | Yahoo!
NFL DFS Picks Week 6: QB sleepers, values for DraftKings, FanDuel
Kirk Cousins, Vikings at Panthers (DK: $ 6,200 | FD: $ 7,100)
Cousins and the Vikes are 2-3, but they really have been much better than that record suggests. Cousins has a 69.6 percent completion rate, 1,396 passing yards, 10 TDs and just two interceptions. While Carolina has been good defensively, she has also played a lot of bad offenses (Jets, Saints, Texans and Eagles, get up). In the week the Panthers faced a legitimate offense, Dallas won 36-28 and Dak Prescott threw four touchdowns. I’ll take Cousins with his highly effective Justin Jefferson catcher tandem from Adam Thielen. Bonus points if elite running back Dalvin Cook returns from his ankle injury.
Mac Jones, Patriots vs. Cowboys (DK: $ 5,200 | FD: $ 6,500)
Jones has been quite impressive in five games as a professional, but it hasn’t exactly translated into the world of fantasy football. I think that changes this week at home against a Cowboys team that ranks 26th in fantasy points given to quarterbacks. Jones is agile, efficient and balanced on the pocket. The Pats will need to score a ton to keep up with a high-octane Dallas offense, and leading running back Damien Harris (chest) is a bit beaten. I’ll take 20 points for $ 5200.
Carson Wentz, Colts vs. Texans (DK price: $ 5,400 | FD: $ 6,700)
Wentz and Indy’s offense woke up a bit on Monday Night Football, even leading the Ravens 22-3 at one point. Of course, all of that went overboard as Baltimore caught up to win 31-25 in overtime. It’s still quite encouraging to see Wentz play confidently in his new digs. Second-year catcher Michael Pittman Jr. is a huge talent, and second-year running back Jonathan Taylor is a double-threat stallion out of the backfield. Wentz has many options and they should prosper against humble Texans.
WEEK 6 PPR RANKINGS:
Field marshal | Running backwards | Wide receiver | Tight end | D / ST | Kicker
NFL DFS Picks Week 6: RB sleepers, values for DraftKings, FanDuel
Damien Williams, Bears vs. Packers (DK: $ 5,800 | FD: $ 6,500)
Williams replaced injured David Montgomery (knee) admirably over the weekend, converting 16 carries on 65 yards and a touchdown and adding 20 yards on two receptions. He’ll have to stay involved in the Bears’ offense this weekend against the Packers in a game where Chicago has an implied point total of 20. Bengals back Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon combined for just 92 yards and a touchdown on 21 totes. against the Packs, and a week earlier, Pittsburgh rookie Najee Harris had 15 carries for 61 yards and a touchdown. I’m taking Damien the Conqueror at these prices.
Latavius Murray, Ravens vs. Chargers (DK: $ 5,700 | FD: $ 5,800)
Murray has been John Harbaugh’s top pick at RB1 in recent weeks, but you couldn’t tell by looking at the veteran’s stat line in Baltimore’s comeback game on Monday night. Don’t worry as that was mostly due to the game’s script and some bad offensive breaks. If Lamar Jackson handed the ball to Murray at the goal line in the third quarter, instead of scuttling and babbling, Murray would have had more than 11 points instead of five. The Chargers rank 23rd in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to backups, so I like their chances of bouncing back from failure.
Devontae Booker, Giants vs. Rams (DK: $ 5,400 | FD: $ 5,900)
Booker will be the best waiver addition of the week in most formats of the entire season after Saquon Barkley sprained his baseball-sized ankle last week. Normally, I wouldn’t recommend starting a running back against the Rams, but Booker can also deal damage through the pass. In PPR formats, LA is ranked 19th against RBs. Hit the Books in a game of great opportunities.
WEEK 6 STANDARD RATINGS:
Field marshal | Running backwards | Wide receiver | Tight end | D / ST | Kicker
NFL DFS Picks Week 6: WR sleepers, values for DraftKings, FanDuel
Robert Woods, Rams at Giants (DK: $ 6,100 | FD: $ 6,900)
Bobby Trees is very attractive after his first big game in the 2021 campaign. Maybe he finally showed up for breakfast with QB Matthew Stafford and teammate Cooper Kupp? Whatever the case, 12 of 14 for 150 yards is a huge market correction. The Giants have a very talented cornerback tandem, but they still rank 18th overall in fantasy points given to wide receivers. With New York beaten up and LA highly motivated to take a “W” and stay atop the NFC West, Woods could score 15-30 points again this weekend.
Jakobi Meyers, Patriots vs. Cowboys (DK: $ 5,500 | FD: $ 5,800)
My friends hate that I endorse Meyers, but I keep saying he’s a talented receiver with a great opportunity as WR1 in a young, upstart offense. He struggled a bit with knockdowns on Sunday against Houston, but I think he’s rebounding really well at home against a Cowboys defense that ranks 29th in fantasy points allowed to receivers. I will take the high PPR to the upside at $ 5,500.
Tee Higgins, Bengals at Lions (DK: $ 5,300 | FD: $ 6,400)
Higgins had a pretty pedestrian line against Green Bay over the weekend, his first game after a two-week absence with a shoulder injury. With another week of recovery under his belt and against the lousy Lions, I think Higgins has a breakout game. He caught five of seven targets last weekend, but they were all short and mid-range shots. At $ 5,300, I’m willing to bet he can open the field a bit this time.
NFL DFS Week 6 Picks: TE Sleepers, DraftKings Values, FanDuel
Mark Andrews, Ravens vs. Chargers (DK: $ 5,200 | FD: $ 6,300)
Andrews put on a gigantic performance in the Ravens’ great comeback over the Colts on Monday Night Football, scoring 41.7 PPR points. He now has a home matchup with the Chargers, who have given up the third-most PPR points to tight end this season (the second-most in PPR mid-formats). Lamar Jackson’s connection to Andrews and catcher Marquise Brown seems to be revitalized, so watch out world.
Hunter Henry, Patriots vs. Cowboys (DK: $ 3,900 | FD: $ 5,600)
In Week 5 against the Texans, Henry finally looked like he was worth the big contract Bill Belichick threw him this spring. The burly tight end caught six passes on eight goals for 75 yards and a touchdown, good for 19.5 PPR points at just $ 3,700. He’s up just $ 200 this week, so he’s great value in a 49 over / under game (with New England’s implied total of over 22 points). Dallas is ranked 25th in fantasy points allowed to tight ends this season.
NFL DFS Picks Week 6: D / ST sleepers, values for DraftKings, FanDuel
Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans (DK: $ 3,500 | FD: $ 4,700)
The Colts defense looked strong against Baltimore for nearly three frames on Monday, but then Lamar Jackson’s floodgates opened and the Ravens had a 28-3 scoring streak for the comeback. Don’t expect the same level of heroics from Davis Mills and the Texans this weekend. The Colts are a very positive play at $ 3,500.
