Number 10 denies Boris and Carrie Johnson broke lockdown rules over Christmas.

According to # 10, Boris and Carrie didn’t break the rules over Christmas. Reports that Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie spent Christmas time with a close friend have been denied by Downing Street. By Christmas, coronavirus infections increased dramatically. Many people have had their planned Christmas festivities canceled.

Government adviser Nimco Ali is said to have spent part of the Christmas period with the couple at No.10.

Many people had planned to spend Christmas with their families because the rules on coronaviruses had to be relaxed. London has been hit by Level 4 restrictions, as have parts of South East England. This meant that millions of people had to change their plans at the last minute.

According to the American magazine Harper’s, Ms. Ali: “spent Christmas with the couple at No. 10 despite pandemic restrictions on holiday gatherings.” Ms Ali started an advisory role in December 2020 at the Home Office.

Speaking to The Independent, a spokesperson for No 10 said: ‘The Prime Minister and Ms Johnson have always followed the rules on coronaviruses. It is totally wrong to claim otherwise.
