Few teams play Thursday night twice in a season. However, certain schedule quirks, including Thanksgiving games and the season opener, allow the NFL to schedule some repeats on Thursday.

We’ll see one of those replays in week 6 of the 2021 NFL season. The “Thursday Night Football” showdown will once again feature the reigning Super Bowl champions against an NFC East team.

In Week 1, the Buccaneers faced the Cowboys at home in Tampa Bay. This time, they will be the visiting team. They will head to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to face the Eagles.

Tom Brady will make his 305th start to the regular season on Thursday. His opponent, Jalen Hurts, will make his 10th start overall. Needless to say, the Bucs will have an advantage in the experience category.

Who is playing ‘Thursday Night Football’ tonight?

  • Match: Buccaneers in Eagles
  • Location: Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Buccaneers will travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles and open Week 6 of the 2021 NFL season. The Buccaneers are looking to win their third game in a row and are 4-1 to start the season. His only loss was against the Rams, another team that has gone 4-1.

Tampa Bay has a great offense that is scoring 33.4 points per game, good for the third-most in the NFL. The Eagles are in the middle of the group defensively and are allowing 24.8 points per game. So if they want to win, they will have to keep up with the Buccaneers offense.

That won’t necessarily be easy. The Bucs have the best rushing defense in the NFL and only allow 45.8 rushing yards per game. However, they’re allowing 314.4 receiving yards per game, the league’s highest, and that’s the strength of Hurts and the Eagles. However, will they find enough success if they can’t run the ball? That is a question worth asking yourself.

It’s also worth noting that Brady has a 12-3 career record in Thursday night’s games. He is 5-2 in seven career games against the Eagles.
